Umeno Kodo is produced at the SARAYA Kumano Food Factory in Kumano City, Mie
Prefecture. The factory is located along the Iseji route of the World Heritage
Kumano Kodo, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and clear streams.

Fully Ripened Nanko Plums from Kumano

Kumano-grown Nanko plums are carefully hand-picked one by one to minimise
damage. Large, fully ripened plums are selected to create a naturally rich and
fruity plum aroma.

No Added Sugar・Only Approx. 0.11g Sugars per 100mL

Traditional umeshu is usually made with a large amount of sugar. Umeno Kodo is
made without added sugar, using maltitol, erythritol and monk fruit extract for
sweetness.

With only approx. 0.11g sugars per 100mL, it keeps the
refreshing sweet-tart character of umeshu without an overly sweet taste.

Slowly Matured for a Rich Plum Flavour

Fresh Nanko plums are carefully selected, washed and destemmed before being
placed into the maturation tank. During maturation, the liquid is gently
stirred at regular intervals, allowing the plum aroma and flavour to gradually
develop.

With its rich plum aroma and refreshing sweet-tart taste, Umeno Kodo can be
enjoyed chilled, over ice, or mixed with soda water for a refreshing umeshu
soda.
